I have tried my luck in online poker a few times over the years. I have always considered myself a rather smart and talented person but by some reason I never managed to actually earn any money. Ok, I didn’t do bad, won a lot of tournaments, won some money on cash games but the truth is I never managed to actually withdraw any money from a pokerroom. I always managed to keep alive but never to make any profit.

I found out that those who make a profit or even a living from poker all have one thing in common. They have an advantage because they use a statistics software. There are lots of different softwares but they all do basically the same, they calculate the pott odds in the ongoing hand and if they are good they keep track of your opponents statistics.  With a tool like this you have a better position from start because you actualy know all the numbers instantly.

But I play more on feeling

So do I, it is still an advantage to see the odds  and info on your opponents. A good poker software keeps track of so much more information than it is possible to try and keep in the head. The important thing here is that you get an advantage and after that you can decide how you play instead of the opponent having the advantage.
